As was expected at today’s WWDC Keynote, Steve Jobs finally made official the next-gen iPhone; jokingly stating “Many of you have seen this already.” The flood of images and an video of leaked prototypes left very little to be expected. As we’ve seen plenty of times before, the new iPhone - iPhone 4 (Really? They couldn’t have come up with something better? It’s not the 4th model. I would’ve preferred iPhone A4.) will have an all glass front and back with a stainless steel frame running around the sides and will have a front facing camera and LED rear flash. What we didn’t know was that will include a gyroscope for 6-axis controls, mico sim bay, 5-megapixel Cameras and the same A4 processor as the iPad. AT&T (that’s right, no Verizon) has offered a six month upgrade window to current iPhone owners. If you bought your 3GS last year between June 24th and December 24th, you should be eligible to upgrade to the iPhone 4 (check with AT&T to make sure). Two models are available, the 16GB at $199 and a 32GB at $299 with a 2-year contract. The phone will be available June 24th and Pre-ordes will open next week June 15 |
