Stand Together: Gaming Community vs SOPA/PIPA

It’s no secret that the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) is one of the biggest supporters of SOPA. Even though lots of the game publishers have publicly pulled support, they are still members of the ESA. ESA’s support makes it look like the video games industry and gamers support this controversial act when the complete opposite is true.

Now, a new movement is growing to show ESA just how much we oppose it by hitting them where it hurts the most; the wallet. E3 is the major source of income for the ESA and we are being encouraged to not attend and/or cover E3 unless they pull support of the acts. If publishers don’t attend and game journalist/bloggers don’t report on the event, the ESA will lose a major flow of cash they are using to lobby for the acts.

The League for Gamers (LFG) has also set up a petition to show your support in protesting the ESA, SOPA and PIPA. So get a move on and sign it! Show the ESA that you don’t see it their way!
