New Zelda for 3DS in the works ![]() It’s been revealed by Eiji Aonuma, director of the Legend of Zelda series, that Nintendo is currently developing the next installment in the series for the Nintendo 3DS handheld. He goes on to confirm that this title is being prioritized over the Major’s Mask port for the handheld. In an interview with Portuguese website My Games, and later translated by Nintendo Everything, Aonuma mentioned “Recently, we released The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D as a remake. We are considering the idea [of porting Majora’s Mask], but it didn’t seem right to launch a remake one after another, so the next Zelda game on 3DS will be original.” Aonuma did go on to confirm that the new game wouldn’t be a direct continuation of any of the previous games, “We are talking about a new game, but it takes much of what has been done on previous handhelds.” No other details were revealed. Just because it will be an entirely new game doesn’t rule out that it could tie-in to Skyward Sword or any of the other tiles in the series. But at least we know the team is currently working on it and we’ll have something to look forward to on our handhelds in the near future. Sources: SHARE AND COMMENT |
